*Newer Athletes Scale to 2 Push Jerks. Remind athletes that the split Jerk requires a lot of foot work. The fault in both the split and push Jerk is the same, lack for fully executing extension at the hip before pressing the bar. Let them know it’s not a demotion, focus on a quality push Jerk over a less efficient split Jerk.
